1h 35m 15 lessons 5 sections

What you'll learn

Record transactions correctly, reconcile cash and bank accounts, track customers and suppliers, prepare a trial balance and understand basic financial statements.

About this course

Build a practical foundation in bookkeeping and accounting using realistic Nigerian small-business examples. You will learn the accounting equation, double entry, journals, ledgers, cash records, receivables, payables, bank reconciliation, trial balances and period-end adjustments.

The course then shows how those records become an income statement and statement of financial position, how inventory affects profit, and how to run a reliable month-end close. Nigerian record-keeping and VAT basics are included using the current 2026 tax framework.

The content is designed for complete beginners and supports the foundations expected in entry-level accounting work, small-business administration and further study such as ICAN Foundation Financial Accounting or ATSWA Basic Accounting.
